Meet the Candidates

I am proud to be a lifelong resident of Narragansett. I was born and raised here, educated in the Narragansett Public Schools, and have been fortunate to spend my life in the community that helped shape who I am today. Narragansett is not simply where I live - it is my home, and serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life. My commitment to public service began with four years on the Narragansett School Committee, including two years as Vice Chair. As someone who grew up in our public schools, I understand firsthand the importance of providing every student with an excellent education and the opportunities they need to succeed. During my time on the School Committee, I successfully advocated for the creation of a student representative position, ensuring that students themselves would always have a voice and seat at the table. I also chaired the Health & Wellness Committee and served on the Special Education Advisory and District Technology Committees. That commitment to service continued when I was elected to the Narragansett Town Council, where I have worked to bring people together, listen to residents, and deliver meaningful results for our community. I believe effective local government requires leadership, collaboration, transparency, accessibility, and respect. Even when we disagree, we can work together toward solutions that put Narragansett first. My priorities remain clear: investing in our infrastructure, supporting our public schools, protecting taxpayers, strengthening our local businesses, investing in our community, defending coastal access, supporting our seniors, and creating opportunities for families and year-round residents to build their futures here. I will continue advocating for responsible budgets and thoughtful policies that protect the character of Narragansett while preparing our town for the future. My professional experience has also prepared me for the responsibility of managing taxpayer dollars. In my career, I work extensively with budgets, financial analysis, and strategic decision making - experience I have brought with me into public service. Most importantly, I believe government works best when it compromises. I have always worked to be accessible to residents, hear different perspectives, and find common ground. Leadership is not about one person having all the answers - it is about bringing people together and getting the work done. I am proud of where I come from, proud of what we have accomplished together, and excited about what Narragansett can accomplish next. I am asking for the opportunity to serve another term on the Narragansett Town Council so we can continue building on our progress and ensure Narragansett remains a community where families, seniors, businesses, students, and residents of every generation can thrive. Narragansett is my home. It always has been - and I will continue working every day to protect it, strengthen it, and move it forward for all of us.

Narragansett has always been more than the place I live — it is home. I grew up here, built my career here, operated a local business here, and have spent decades working alongside the people who make this community so special. That lifelong connection is why serving on the Narragansett Town Council has meant so much to me and why I am proud to seek re-election. Throughout my years of public service, I have tried to bring something simple but important to the Town Hall: common sense, practical experience, and a willingness to work with people to get things done. After four terms on the Town Council, I understand our town, its history, the challenges we face, and the importance of making decisions today that will protect Narragansett for future generations. My professional background in construction, real estate, accounting, and small business gives me a practical perspective when reviewing budgets, development proposals, zoning issues, ordinances, and infrastructure needs. I understand that decisions made by the Town Council have real consequences for homeowners, families, businesses, taxpayers, and the people who work and invest in our community. I am especially proud to have helped build the Narragansett Athletic Complex at Narragansett High School. Seeing generations of students, athletes, families, and residents benefit from that facility is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we invest wisely in our community and work together toward a common goal. During my service on the Town Council, I have remained focused on responsible development, protecting tax payers, supporting our schools and local businesses, addressing housing challenges, improving our infrastructure, and finding reasonable solutions to issues such as short-term rentals. I believe regulations should be fair, understandable, enforceable, and respectful of both individual property rights and the quality of life of our neighborhoods. I have also remained committed to preserving what makes Narragansett unique. Through my involvement with the Towers Committee and local civic organizations, I have worked to protect our town's history and character while recognizing that Narragansett must continue planning responsibly for its future. But public service is about more than budgets, buildings, and ordinances. It is about people. It is about listening to all residents - those who have lived here for 50 years, the young family hoping to put down roots, the senior who wants to remain in the community they love, and the local business owner working hard every day to succeed. I know Narragansett because I have lived it. I grew up here. I have worked here. I have built here. I have owned a business here. And I have had the privilege of serving the people who call this town home. I am proud of what we have accomplished, but there is more work ahead. I am asking for your support for re-election to the Narragansett Town Council so I can continue bringing experience, common sense, and a lifelong commitment to the community I love. Let's keep working together to protect what Narragansett special while building an even stronger future for everyone who calls it home.

For me, public service begins with something simple but powerful: listening. Every resident deserves to know that their ideas, experiences, and concerns matter - and that they have a voice in the decisions shaping the future of Narragansett. It has been an incredible honor to serve on the Narragansett Town Council, and I am proud to seek re-election so I can continue working for a community that is welcoming, accessible, responsible, and responsive to the people who call it home. Throughout my term, I have worked to bring respect, empathy, collaboration, and common sense to Town government. I believe we accomplish more when we focus less on political labels and more on finding solutions. We may not always agree, but we can listen to one another, find common ground, and work together to move Narragansett forward. My commitment to service extends throughout my life. Before retiring, I spent 35 years as a public school educator, dedicating my career to helping students success. I also served as President of the Waterbury Teachers Union, representing approximately 1,500 educators, and as a political interns with the Connecticut Education Association. As Vice Chair of the CEA Legislative Committee, I contributed to statewide policy discussions while advocating for high-quality public education. Those experiences taught me how to listen, negotiate, build consensus, advocate for people, and bring different perspectives together - skills I bring to every decision I make as a Town Council member. I am especially passionate about ensuring Narragansett remains a community that works for people at every stage of life. During my service on the Council, I have advocated for our seniors, our schools, accessibility, community programs, responsible investment, and opportunities that bring residents together. I am particularly proud that we prioritized funding for an elevator at the Community Center, an important investment that will make this valuable community resource more accessible and welcoming to everyone. I recently completed serving on my second term as Co-President of the Rotary Club of Wakefield, where the Rotary principle of "Service Above Self" reflects the philosophy I try to bring to everything I do. Whether I am speaking with a resident, supporting a community organization, attending a local event, advocating for our seniors, or sitting at the Council table, my goal remains the same: to serve people and make our community stronger. There is still important work ahead. I want to continue strengthening opportunities for seniors, supporting our public schools and families, protecting the quality of life in our neighborhoods, supporting responsible budgets and local businesses, and ensuring Narragansett remains a community where everyone feels heard and respected. I am proud of the progress we have made together, and I am asking for your support to serve another term on the Narragansett Town Council.  I will continue to listen. I will continue to show up. I will continue to work with others. And most importantly, I will continue to search for compromise as we move forward.

I am running for re-election to the Narragansett Town Council because I believe Narragansett should continue to make progress on being a community where families can afford to live, raise their children, and build their futures. As a husband and father of two daughters, I understand firsthand the challenges facing families today - from the rising cost of housing to the importance of strong public schools. I am committed to finding responsible solutions that create more attainable and affordable housing opportunities so young families, seniors, and longtime residents have the opportunity to remain in the community they love.  My commitment to Narragansett began before I joined the Town Council. I proudly served on the Economic Development Committee and the Narragansett Land Conservancy Trust, experiences that strengthened my understanding of town government and reinforced the importance of giving back to our community. I earned my Doctorate in Education with a focus on leadership and social justice and currently serve as Executive Director of The Education Exchange in Peace Dale. Every day, I work with individuals striving to improve their lives through education, workforce development, and new opportunities. That experience has reinforced something I strongly believe in: when we give people the opportunity to success, our entire community becomes stronger. On the Town Council, I have worked to support our schools, protect our natural resources, strengthen our local economy, and move important community projects forward. I also believe strongly in civil, respectful government. We may not always agree, but we can listen to one another, work together, and find solutions that put Narragansett first. I am seeking re-election because there is more work to do. I want Narragansett to be a place where our children can someday afford to return home, families can put down roots, seniors can remain in the community they helped build, and people of all generations can proudly call Narragansett home. That is the Narragansett I am working for - and the future I will continue fighting for on the Town Council.
